   The collapsible more modern models in this class simply do not ‘cook’. They may be more compact, nicer to look at, and so on but they do not cook. They will keep things warm or even warm things up over time, but not actually cook. Believe me, I have tried almost every kind and I come back to these. It’s ugly as an old lunch box but it works and it gets HOT.Like all of these, they are designed to fail after a few years. Only the cheapest plastic is used on the 12v connectors and over the last decade plus I’ve had two ultimately fail at the connection point. While I am back to this model, I am being quite conscious of how I treat the connection. Biggest shortcoming is the inability to ‘unplug’ the cord from the case (think laptop), so it just is invariably in the way when you trying to store it. Be nice if you could just unplug the cord from the lunch box and store it inside when not in use. Still, if you are in the market for a DC Car ‘cooker’, this is the type to get.

   Works really well. It takes longer then the paperwork inside states, however, is exactly what I wanted. Only problem I have is the cigarette lighter came apart where the fuse goes in, and lost the parts from inside. So off you other this I recommend you check that it’s tightened often.I have used it to heat frozen burritos, ribs, leftover pizza, and other leftovers. The leftover pizza had a crunchier crust then the day I got it from the pizza place.I work all day as a package delivery driver, so I’m stuck in my truck ALL DAY and this has allowed me to get away from cold sandwiches every day.Overall, I’m extremely happy with this product.

   Only reason this isn’t a 5 star rating is it takes too long to heat things up. I used it to warm up wraps on the trail. 75 degrees out and it took about a hour to sufficiently heat up my wraps. Main problem with this device is it only heats up the bottom of the box. Other than that complaint it worked well. Also helps to rotate food about half way through heating.

   This works even better than described! Bought for my husband for work, as there are time they are not near a restaurant and he wants a hot lunch. Plug it in, let it heat and it’s ready! This takes about 30-40 minutes but is nice and hot
