When facing North, I expect to see the N on the ball, but I see the S. This reads more like a flat/needle compass, which is not what I expect from a spherical compass, especially when it is clearly meant to be viewed from the side rather than the top and has an arrow away from the N, indicating that that direction is north.

The directions are printed backward on this stupid thing. As a dashboard mount, you should never be looking directly down on it, so the cardinal direction that appears facing you should indicate the direction you are going.
