I got this because even though I smoke I do make efforts to never litter the butts. The built in light is actually kinda annoying if you have night blindness like I do haha, but besides that it works fine. Ive been able to just drop cigarettes straight in there without even crushing the cherry out and they have gone out but I of course highly recommend always making sure the cherry is crushed and the lid is shut after your dispose of the butt ! It’s easy to empty and I like that it keeps ash out of my back seat (cause as all smokers know it’s inevitable when you’re going to ash out a window while driving). It also completely muffles the smell of the cigarette butts, my car does not smell like an ash tray. No need to put water in it or anything either. I will say though that the light kind of began to break only two months in to having this thing and now it kind of just flickers, but as I stated before the light bothered me anyway so I don’t really care that it’s gone out. Also the sun/heat ended up warping the lid to it but like just the rubber part in the center the actual lid still completely closes and works just fine.

I bought this for my bf to put in his work truck because he seriously needs one. I wanted to avoid the plastic one since most cigs aren’t completely out when you’re tossing them that’s just a fire hazard waiting to happen.Overall, it’s a good ashtray. Seems durable. Just smaller than I thought.

Its not magic and doesn’t smell like roses but its sturdy enough and closes tight so you can stash it in the console. Top is peeling off so that is lame otherwise it does a good job of being an ashtray.

The top and bottom are made of a hard plastic. The main body is made of metal (aluminum).The top has a fine thread that takes almost 4 turns to remove. The bottom has a much courser thread that takes right at 1 turn to remove. The diameter is 2-11/16 inches, and the height is 4-3/16 inches.The lid also has a rubber seal which will keep it airtight once closed. It fits nicely in a standard automotive cup holder.

I have tried others that disappointed me because they were made of plastic parts that would warp or melt. This is a great lidded ashtray with a metal body. Easy to empty. Only drawback is the light. Unless you keep in constant sun or lamp light, it doesn’t work that well but it isn’t an important feature for me.
