This compass did not correctly show directions from the minute I took it out of the box and did not get any better in the car. I can not recommend this product to anyone and returning it is more work than it is worth. As a retired geography teacher I know a little about compasses and this one has failed.

This compass is completely reversed. If placed pointing north on a car dashboard or affixed to the windshield, It reads exactly opposite to the direction being traveled. Not sure what application it has for vehicle use. If you question my ability to read a compass, 27 years in US military, lifetime on boats and sailboats. I can read a compass.

The compass fell off the dash after a day. The glue felt sticky but did not stick to the dash. Also, the direction you are traveling in is at the part of the compass closest to the window, the part you can’t see. The part of the compass that is facing you is the direction you are not going in. If this is not how this compass is supposed to work than I received a very whacked out compass. If this is indeed how this compass is supposed to be oriented I would recommend getting another model.

I thought it worked. The ball floats free and when it’s parked at home it reads the proper direction N/NE. I forgot to check while driving until I needed it….I have and will forever be traveling N/NE though I did just travel from Upstate New York to Rhode Island; had to look at the sun to be sure of the East Or West coordinates. I felt angered, saddened and disappointed that the adorable compass was a fraud
