I’m not a mechanic but I know my way around my vehicle to fix most things. If your vehicle has never had a remote start you’ll need a pro to install this. There are no instructions on the box when I received it. I had looked up this start kit on compustar website and for my vehicle it said all I needed was I wiring harness to install. I took it to a local mechanic who’s certified in my vehicle, and they couldn’t install it. I needed more parts. So I took it to a pro installer and had to get what they called a blade for this to be installed. After spending another Benjamin on that and almost 250 in labor I have my remote start installed.Using it is simple, press the button to lock or unlock, press and hold to start the engine. It has a 15 minute timer to shut off the engine. Not sure if that can be reduced or extended, the timer was the same in my previous vehicle so that works for me. It also locks the doors when it starts the engine which is a bonus my previous vehicle didn’t have. And it has the safety feature to kill the engine if the brake is pressed before the key is turned to the on position.Very happy with this purchase. The 2 way remote beeps at you when you lock or unlock the doors and plays a chime when the engine starts to let you know that action has been completed. The lights on the remote will flash every 30 seconds or so to remind you the engine is running.So happy I got this, b the day after it was installed we had a cold spell, single digits temps and a couple days of negative temps in the mornings. I didn’t have to go out and freeze to start my Jeep. The 3000 ft range is strong enough to start the Jeep in my detached garage from my recliner.

Ive had this professionally installed in my hummer H3 in 2019.I bought 2 more for family and their vehicles.For my H3 it worked perfectly for a year, then out of the blues whenever I used my remote to start my H3 the car would act like it would start but not.I would put my key in and try to start it that way but it wouldn’t start then my key would be locked in the ignition and I couldn’t get it out.I have taken it back to the installers a few times, they would reset it or something and it would work ok for a while then back to the issue.The other vehicles are doing just fine and no issues.So either this is H3 specific or I ended up with a faulty unit.

I gifted this to my son for Christmas. He absolutely hated going out in the cold winter to start his car before school. Now though, he simply pushes the start button for 3 seconds, then walks away. We didn’t realize there is a LOUD chime that the controller emits when the car starts. It flashes indicating it started like other 2-way fobs, but we were surprised to also find out it had an audible alert. A very loud audible alert. (loud like a utility truck backing up) He has yet to complain a single time about this auto-starter (which is amazing). He said he can start his car after school from in the building, without his car in site at all, and it still starts.

Seller was very prompt in shipping the item to me. It did state in the item description more parts may be necessary but seller did not state the item did not have the blade included. I expected you need something but I certainly did not expect for the “brain of the system” to not be included. A little disappointed overall

I put this system in myself two years ago. I am an engineering student and know a decent amount about electronics so this was pretty easy for me to install. Bought a BLADE AL and programming cable too which makes the install a breeze. Having the cable is a must as you need to program the system for your car. It’s very straightforward in my opinion and is very customizable. I have my system set to run for 15 min on remote start and my trunk button actually lays on my horn to help me find my truck (I don’t have a pop-trunk). There’s plenty of other options too. For the money, it’s a high quality kit with the software to back it too. The software may be ancient but gets the job done. There’s plenty of documentation out there for various types of vehicles too. Took me maybe half an hour to get all the diagrams I needed to install. Always double check with a DMM when you can.

It’s cool little deterrent for but had to by extra module at the stereo shop to actually start My truck up if you install it just right it would annoy a basic car thief my installer fixed it you dont do certain sequence of things and you put you foot on the brake the engine will fail

I really didn’t get chance to use it before I had to send it back before install I still would have to use 2 key fobs for my car not worth the effort.

Starter works great…but was just looking for a remote starter. Fob makes WAY more announcement beeps than I need.
