I bought this and waited almost a month to be delivered even though they were “in stock”.Not going to complain because in the end the installation was very straightforward. For someone (me) with no prior knowledge about remote starters nor alarm systems it was clear enough. A lot of research went into this but it was time well spent.I particularly used a Blade AL transponder which eliminates a lot of wire connections if you use the CM-900as module (remote starter). You need to go to Idatalink.com and search for your particular Car year and model and get the schematic. While you’re there flash your Blade AL to your specific car, year, model, and possibly update your module if given the option. You will also need your specific car model starter wiring diagram. If you’re lucky the wires you’ll need to connect will be shown on the Blade AL schematic you download from the idatalink website.NOTE:You need an ADS-USB cable to flash and upgrade your module.Once you have the schematic it’s going to show you which wires go where. Follow this directions. There will be a possible diode 1n4001 that you need to solder (1n4007 will work just fine). Remember ground and the two 12V wires that go to the battery from the module. Read the schematic carefully an extra power source to your module will damage your car electronics. Use common sense.I read everywhere that I would have to use a relay set up to be able to lock and unlock the doors with the fob that comes with the module. Apparently the lock and unlock functions on my 2006 charger use a single wire BUT if you hook up the module exactly like it’s shown on the schematic there won’t be a need for that relay set up. Blade AL takes care of that. Don’t ask me how but It happened with my 06 charger I didn’t hook anything other than the remote start wires and Blade AL bypassed even my existing stock alarm.Overall I think this is a great remote starter for the money. Many more functions can be added to it. I only wanted lock and unlock without using my key that would trigger the car alarm, not anymore so I’m extremely happy with it. Going to see if I can add other functions like windows down and up via remote. If you look at the picture that is all the information I needed to make it work on my 2006 Dodge charger rt. I Just added the 2 12v fused lines (red and red/white) and the ground (black cable)Good luck guys. If I managed to do this so can you.Third picture (top schematic) is the relay set up I was supposed to use to be able to lock and unlock doors but like I said I didn’t need to. If your 2006 Charger doesn’t have stock alarm system or even if it does it doesn’t guarantee that you won’t need to use it.

I bought a remote start years ago and kept putting off installing it, finally I decided to install it and the remotes had lost their pairing to the module. I followed the pairing instructions and it didn’t work, I reached out to the manufacturer and they basically said its a problem with the module and Id have to send it in to fix.I was bummed about that so I just started researching for other brands etc, found this Compustar and really liked what it offered for the money. Its clear that Compustar doesn’t tailor towards the DIY as they only provide very minimal documentation (and honestly I don’t blame them for not wanting to deal with people doing sub par installs, then complaining that things don’t function as they should)If you search online you can find ~50 page documentation on this module, but that wasn’t required to get it installed and functioning.I like that there is quite a bit of flexibility in the options in terms having additional power wires and configuring how they function. It appears they also offer quite a few add-ons for additional functionality if needed. The remotes feel quality made and seem to have great range, although I haven’t tested from very far yet.I will update this as time goes.

I bought this to put on an ’07 super duty diesel. then come to find out I had to order a whole separate programmer just to make it work for a diesel! within 3 weeks after installing it, my remote/pager unit began to malfunction constantly and would just start vibrating and beeping in the middle of the night for no reason and then turn off and then a couple days later turn itself back on randomly and it keeps drawing so much power from the battery. it keeps getting corrosion inside of it sitting inside the house. I could only use the backup remote! I try to get a hold of somebody for a warranty and can’t get a hold of anybody and a whole new remote is 70 bucks which I feel like I should have a warranty on seeing that the product was that new.

I installed a viper 2 way remote start / alarm on my 01 civic. Did what it had to do but I felt like it was missing features. This brand has more features at a lower price. The remote also feels more of a higher quality. The downside is the remote used a AAA battery but at least it tells you how much life is left. The temp sense inside the car is another cool feature. Does come with unlock lock ect option. Some people have said it doesn’t but it does. Another problem I saw is that you need a special tool to change the special settings for a trunk release. It is called the ft-op500. This changes the orange wire to a trunk release – output. Overall I do recommend it for a cheaper 2 way remote starter.

My favorite system to install, however make sure you purchase the blade bypass otherwise it may not be compatible or you’ll end up wiring everything analog. If you have NO experience dont even attempt! This needs to be installed by a professional and not a buddy you know….the programming features are phenomenal
