The tire pressure that a manufacturer puts on the inside of your door is generally based on a few factors that are static but many are variable. Also they are generally related to the weather located at the place of manufacture or occasionally where their target customers are located.Static factors are the weight of your car, power your car has and max speed. Variable factors are ambient temperatureI as they change with the season, altitude above sea level, wheel sizes, the load and speed rating of your tires, strength of the tires sidewalls, tire profile, etc. These are not everything to consider but you get the idea.My wear is typically in the center of my low pro tires as the tire shops are trained to use the stickers as their guide. This never made me happy I don’t care for wasting rubber or fuel during daily driving. With this tool and data I have been able to gather I believe I have found the correct pressure for these tires and conditions during hot southern summers. Currently, 36 psi in front and 34 in the rears. When using, turn the device on, push the plunger down as if to measure a tread depth. Place it on something flat and when the plunger and tool is flush, zero the meter. When taking measurements, push the plunger so there is plenty of the probe sticking out, insert the exposed probe into the valley of your tread, press the meter flush to the tire. Measure your tires, on the inside shoulder, the middle, and outside shoulder. The goal is to have them all the same.If your center tread depth is lower than the outside, you have too much air. If the center is higher, you have too little pressure. If there is a huge delta or one shoulder is worn more than another, have your suspension checked for worn bushings and alignment.I recommend this product for finding out the proper pressure for your vehicles, per season, and to ensure the tires till have the proper tread to get you and your loved ones to your destination safely. Not to mention, if you have a business, and several vehicles, unnecessary tires and fuel costs could add up. This is a great easy to use and read tool to ensure you’re getting the most out of your investments.

This device measures tread depth and allows you to 1) identify uneven wear, 2) project remaining tire life and environment traction and braking capabilities and 3) budget for new tires based on driving wear projections. Why use a coin when you can inexpensively measure tread depth? This is a very useful tool.

Which is it, 32nds or MMAnswer: BothProblem: The indication on the tool is so hard to read, all I know ismy right front is 6 and my right rear is 8.If those are 32nds, I am still good for a while. If those are millimeters, I need to decide which tires to buy soon. But, I don’t know which it is.I can resolve this by using a magnifying glass and measuring in bright daylight. Why should I have to – just mark the tool in one or the other, ONLY.

My church performs free oil changes for single moms quarterly. I can quickly check their tire tread depth while the vehicle is on the lift. I give them actual measurement based information.

very hard to read has so many measurement gradients

The second best feature of this device is the ability to set it on the tire and measure the tread depth. The best feature is the clear display with large numbers and the flat bottom. This means I can take a picture of the device while it’s sitting on the tire, clearly showing the depth of the tread. This is very useful when selling tires so you can include one of these pics in the posting.
