What is a Faraday Bag? It is a structure that blocks the passage of radio signals. Why do you need the Faraday Bag? Modern keyless fobs carry identification chips that pick up radio signals sent out by their car. The vehicle recognizes the fob when it’s in range and unlocks the doors. Keyless ignition systems work in the same way – enabling cars to start when the key fob is detected in the cabin. Criminals can exploit this via a wireless relay attack. Using a radio frequency relay booster, it’s possible to pick up and then transmit a key fob signal to trick the car into thinking a fob is present. This enables entry and theft from the cabin or boot – and, in the case of keyless ignition systems, theft of the vehicle itself. Thanks to its 100% signal jamming capability, TICONN faraday bag can completely isolate your fob to make such attacks impossible – giving you complete peace of mind as a protector against data loss. How does the TICONN faraday bag work? Our faraday bags make your cars safe by stopping signals being sent or received by your key fob or any other device containing data. Remove your key from the faraday bag and signal reception is restored immediately, enabling normal usage. Attention: 1. Please make sure your vehicle key fob is put in to inner layer since only the Inner layer blocks signals 2. The size of these faraday bags is only designed for car key fob, not suit for mobile phones. 3. Please do not wash the faraday bag; keep the interior dry, or it may lose signal-blocking function. **Update**While I still like this product in theory, there is a big problem. With time, this product begins to fail. My pouch has no obvious damage to it, but the car door opens automatically when the fob is still in the protective metal area of the pouch. One time I even had it in my pocket within the pouch, and was able to start the car! Needless to say that was a little concerning and I thought maybe it was a fluke. But there are other members of the family that also have this pouch. Theirs also have failed with time. I still think it’s a good product but with a caveat. You will have to test it frequently. As an added safeguard, instead of hanging up our keys in the pouch, we put the keys in the pouch iand into a metal box. At least this way there is a certain degree of protection. I would say it’s a good product BUT it must tested frequently and be prepared to replace it. But definitely it does work for a while. At the moment, I’m not too worried about someone taking the car. The worry is that someone will try to steal the catalytic converter. That seems to be happening in our area at the moment.————————————————–Wow, I had no idea how easy it is for a tag team of thieves to steal a car! I saw a newscast that was reporting on “relay attacks” on vehicles. All you have to do is Google it. Apparently cars that have a start button instead of a key. The fobs constantly send a signal, or a ping in search of their matched vehicle. Auto thieves can scan the signal with their own electronic device, and just walk into your car and drive off. No key needed, just a digital signal!I ordered a pack of two Faraday pouches. The pouch works perfectly. I tested it to make sure that it worked. First, I walked up to the car. Normally the car will unlock if you are within a few feet of it. The car did not detect the fob while it was tucked away in the pouch. Next, I unlocked the car and sat in the driver’s seat. I placed the fob back into the pouch. I hit the on button to start the car. Again, the car could not detect the fob and wouldn’t start until I took it out of the pouch.I am very happy with the pouch. If you buy this product, please be aware that the pouch comes with two pockets. It is very important to note, you have to use the back pocket that is lined with a gold colored fabric. That fabric is what protects the signal from leaving the pouch. The first pocket is for small things like coins. It doesn’t block signals. Only the back pocket does. The only thing I could be concerned about with this product is that it closes with velcro. At some point the velcro will wear out from overuse. Maybe use a binder clip to keep it closed if that happens. For the life of me I still do not understand why automakers came up with this idea of a keyless ignition. I guess I’m old school. I prefer keys over fobs. I guess times change & this appears to be the latest fad. Until auto makers use some common sense to either go back to a real key, or include an on-off switch on the fobs, this is a great product that can help deter an expensive theft. I totally recommend it.

They are oversized for my keys, but good if you want to put a credit card or a little money inside. I took one apart and resewed it smaller. I then ditched it during the day because it was a hassle to keep taking the key out of one pocket to activate key, then into the protective pocket. It does work though and for other people it may be fine. For me it is a night time security item.

I went shopping a few weeks ago and when I got in my Jeep my brake was locked so my car wouldn’t start. After going through a command on the screen on my dashboard that the car initiated, the brakes unlocked. Asking the dealer they said my car thought it was being stolen so it wouldn’t start. I honestly believe someone tried to intercept my signal while I was within 300 feet of my car. This key fob protector works exactly as stated. The fob fits comfortably in the bag, and when you insert it in the gold pocket the car will not unlock. This holder fits comfortably in a slot in my Crossbody bag. The price is great for the 2-pack. I feel much safer having this fob while I am out. I highly recommended and it’s worth it.

I saw some reviews where people say it doesn’t work. But if you put your key in the pocket with the beige lining and not the front part, then it works. I tested it by putting my key in it and going right up to my car and it wouldn’t unlock. Took the key out, and the car unlocked. We were traveling and it was easy to take this with us. We usually keep our keys in a Faraday box but this was handy to take away with us.

With everything going in in this world is better to be safe than sorry. This pouch will protect you chip from potential thieves trying to steal your vehicle. Worth every penny. Not ideal to put on a key chain but if you have a back pack just for security purposes you can place key fob inside the pouch while your walking to your destination. I’m hoping something more ideal like a shell will be invented in the near future. I’m very satisfied.

The internal material is a little bit delicate, so some level of care must be used in pulling back the metal internal sleeve….but it effectively blocks transmission of electronic data. I have a key fob that was requiring a new battery too often and found that it was communicating with my car even at quite a distance. (From inside our house to inside our garage). The sleeve effectively stops the electronic communication and the pouch is good looking.

You need to make sure you place the key in the right pocket and it will work great. I added some velcro so I can easily hide the key outside my car.

Pocket size to fit most key fobs. would be even better if front slot was also lined so a credit card could be put in it and protected.
