Pay close attention to the picture that they have on their ad about this product. This is just the outer shell obviously for that amount of money. It clearly shows on the description a picture of the remote and it shows that if your current remote has a “light area” at the top for a red light; then this remote will NOT work to replace your current remote. However, I did utilize one side of the remote and used my old inner parts with the other side of my current remote which made the new set up “deep enough” for the old inner parts. That is the issue with this new remote….to use the entire new remote it is too shallow to be able to fit the parts of the old remote. No fault of the seller because they clearly show you that if has the red light at top; it will not be compatible. I was able to make it work so that I have an area for the key ring by only using one side of the new remote. For under $10 it was worth it to be able to have key ring attached. Update: stopped working after about 5 days, so it really is not deep enough to hold the inner parts of a 2002 tundra remote.

I knew this was just the case when I bought it [just like You, the key ring part of the plastic broke], but somehow in going from the old case to the new, the electronics stopped working (despite a brand new battery.) I could have un-knowingly done something to cause this, but, either way I’m now wrestling with re-programming, and it has become a major hassle. Not ‘Their’ fault though. The thing is as advertised. Hopefully You’ll have better luck!

Like most on here, the key ring portion of the plastic on my original finally gave out after 18 years. Thought I’d have to get a new key or something, found this. For my key it was a perfect fit. Take apart the old key, move the printed circuit board internals to this new plastic housing and voila you’re done. I haven’t had any issues with the new plastic breaking, but i’m pretty gentle on my keys.

I have a 2006 Toyota Highlander and my key fob case broke where it attaches to my key ring so I order this and its perfect! Easy to switch out, and works like a champ! 10 out of 10! I highly recommend anyone that needs this, to order it, its a perfect match minus the Toyota badge. I’m considering ordering another one just to have a backup for my second set of keys.

I wouldn’t have bet that this off-brand case would actually be watertight, but it is. Someone (probably my kids) poured water in the opaque bowl we toss our keys in. I tossed them in the bowl and didn’t hear the sploosh. An hour later they were found, long submerged. But, after opening the case, I found the circuit board and everything inside nice and dry.

Bought this since the little ring on my old key fob had broken, and thus no longer attached to my keychain. The internals of my old fob were fine so all I needed was a new case. This worked perfectly. Sturdy case with all the seals. Very satisfied, especially at $6.95.

Just open up your old fob, remove the chip and battery and carefully place it into this new housing. Took all of three minutes. You’ll need something to pry open your existing fob but otherwise you have everything you need.
