Great product! Much cheaper and faster than getting a whole new key! One problem is that most places won’t cut keys that are not purchased from that store. If you know a locksmith or are able to cut it yourself it is an excellent price. Otherwise, save some money and just get a whole new key.

This worked fine for what we needed. You’ll have to get a store to cut the key (our hardware store did it for free). Before transferring the small circuit board, you need to remove and transfer the very small rfid chip from the old key (this was for a 2008 Avalon, yours may be different). The chip is in a little compartment right next to where the metal key joins the fob. I had to use a pocket knife to get the compartment open and pry out the old chip. Installing it in the new fob was a little easier. Warning: if your fob/key uses this rfid chip and you don’t transfer it, the fob will open the doors and trunk but won’t start the car.

Though I could switch the key out but the key can’t be removed, it has to be recut. Which cost to much. Only need a new one cuz the hook part broke, so tape it is.

Not at all no use at all what I needed. I bought this just for the shell .but the shell was connected to the metal and won’t come a part so it’s useless to me .and it will not work on any Toyota which I new that like I said I just wanted the shell .this would be useless for anything

This is a great product! Easy to transfer things over except that little bit that’s glued inside of the original key (it’s important, watch a tutorial, don’t try this blind!)The issue I had (no fault of the product) was finding a place that would cut the key. I stopped at a bunch of different hardware and auto stores and most said they wouldn’t cut the key. Finally found a local hardware store that did though, and it works great!

Literally saved hundreds of dollars. I had no idea this alternative to getting a key fab from the dealers existed. I had all of it but the black plastic shell was broken. Very easy to change out!

My previous key broke .Switched out the guts of the old key and replaced into the new key , make sure to take out the little black casing with chip inside as well. It’s easy to miss and is needed to start the car . Other then that the key works well and at a great price , oh yeah make sure to get the key cut as well.
