The media could not be loaded. Took me a little over an hour to install from start to finish, including not being prepared with the tools I needed then spending time searching through my husband’s garage as my need arose.The video does not detail how to remove the panel in front where the temperature knob is, but I was able to figure it out. You’re also not supplied with the blue tool in the video to pry the caps off the screws in the glove box. It took me a while to find something that would work without damaging the plastic. It also makes it look much easier to remove the interior paneling than it actually is. I was scared I was going to bend or damage the pieces by prying/pulling too hard.Overall though, it was easy enough for a girl that has never worked on a vehicle (I’ve never even changed my own tire) to complete on her own without any assistance.I will advise to read the programming instructions carefully. Lol! I could have been done much quicker if I read ahead and read the order the plugs were supposed to be plugged in. It took me about five tries of just doing without reading before finally getting the order down correctly.Product does what it says it will do. It is a little slow to start the engine, but it eventually does. I’m just happy to have this feature available on this vehicle!

I ordered this item and watched the installation video to get familiar with location of bolts and clips. After getting all my tools that I might need I started the video and was able to follow the video without pausing. Literally took me under 10 minutes and I was testing the starter. I think my total time spent on gathering tools and install was under 30 minutes. Works beautifully!!!

EXTREMELY easy install. The only part that took a few minutes was to locate the box behind the glovebox so it wouldn’t interfere with putting everything back together. Even with that one hiccup, it took 20 mins tops. Works amazing

I started this install at 10:30 on a Saturday morning. The whole process took me about 2 hours, including reinstalling everything. The video leaves out some details that I’d like to touch on in case it might help someone else.First glitch I ran into was that you have to remove the right side of the radio panel. It doesn’t show this in the video. You’ll realize when as you go along. Just use your trim tool, find a gap and slowly pry it away. The second hiccup was removing the air bag. I could not get it to budge. This was also about the time the sun was right in my face so I took a 15-minute break (included in my install time). When I came back with renewed energy and mind, I tried again. The key for me was prying off the pink (red?) clips with the included tool, from right to left. I rested this air bag module thingy on the smartx box, turned sideways, and continued.My next mistake was in programming. Actually, testing. I hit the lock button three times but all it did was beep. I tried programming it again, but still — beeping steady even with the first lock button press. I thought I messed something up until I realized you can’t remote start with the door open. Smh. Closed the door, tried again, worked just fine. Face slap to myself. Lol. Putting it back together took me a little while but at 12:30 I was ready to roll.I’m now happy with my new-to-me 4Runner!!

Installed this in 2022 4Runner Trail Edition (after getting done doing one in a 2016 RAM 1500) and it took about 2 hours (the RAM took 30 mins). The video they provide needs to be re-shot, they leave out A LOT of details on how to remove parts, it’s not as easy as they make it look. “Loose then clips”. Uh-uh. More like, “Be prepared to rip this out with all your might!” and when it comes to the airbag and glovebox removal, DO NOT LET THE VIDEO FOOL YOU, you need to use the spudger to loosen them at the top first, you’ll see some red clips holding it in once you pop it out a bit, see my photos.All in all, I saved $300 but not letting the dealership install it, so I can’t complain. Highly recommend this product and the company. I’ll be buying these in the future if I need them.

2021 trd with push button start. The provided video is just okay, it shows where and what to remove. One Tip I can provide is the programming part. Read the programming instructions before you start plugging things in. I plugged ALL of the connections in then found out that I need to plug only the black in while holding the programming button down. Taking those tiny connectors out is hard as they’re super tiny ! Test before you put all together. Good product. Thanks !

The product was installed and works as it should, it took alot longer than the “instruction” video would indicate because the video has multiple cuts where specific details are omitted. Installing the actual product was straightforward and simple but getting to it by removing the trim was a pain. If the company actually did an instal video rather than a highschool jazz music video it would be all 5 stars. As it sits I won’t recomend them based on the misleading and virtually useless video. Again I can’t express how much the video is bovine excrement.-5 stars for video, 5 stars for product, 5 stars for convenience equals roughly 3 stars.
