I recently purchased the T50 model and here are my initial thoughts regarding this product.Purchased Date: 8/1/2022Initial Review Date: 8/10/2022(I intend to update my review after I’ve had the unit for some time)The GoodThis cooler works as advertised! The duel zones are controlled independently and you can make a single zone by removing the center divider. The unit cools rapidly and I’m satisfied with the overall purchase.[UPDATE 8/12/2022 – I tested the Max Cooling after the cooler was sitting in a hot car (in Florida). I brought the refrigerator temperature down from 87 degrees F to 38 degrees in about a half hour.][UPDATE 8/21/2022 – NOTE: The prior cooling test was with an empty cooler. This time I loaded both the refrigerator and freezer side with food (leftovers and other food purchased while out. During an 1 and a half hour ride home, the cooler didn’t fair as well as it did when empty. It only managed to get down to about 63 degrees from about 87 in that hour and a half. You definitely need to cool off the unit first before putting food in it to maintain a cool temperature.]The BadThe instruction manual is terribly written. Especially the instructions for adding the device to the app. I downloaded the Android version and at first, everything seemed to go smoothly, but to this day, I am confused about how to connect the unit to the app. It took me several days and lots of watching You Tube videos before I figured out how to connect the unit to the app. I’m an IT professional and I found their instructions challenging. The following are a few points of confusion:1) I don’t understand why I need to connect my phone to a 2.4 GHz wireless network prior to connecting to the cooler (as opposed to a 5 GHz network). The instructions state that it doesn’t work on anything but the 2.4 network. I’m not sure why I need to be connected to my home router at all for that matter.2) It states that you need both WIFI and Bluetooth switched on, but you are not technically connecting the cooler as a Bluetooth device. The cooler displays the Bluetooth symbol on the display so I imagine it’s being used somehow, but it’s not technically being added to your phone as a Bluetooth device.3) IMPORTANT: The instructions are unclear that the unit actually needs to be OFF (but plugged in) to do the pairing. After you power off the device you press the + and – simultaneously in order for the app to discover the cooler. I was trying to do this step with the unit on and the app could not discover the cooler. Once I paired the cooler to the app, it seems to work fine, even in the car when not on my home network as you would expect. It seems to work, but I don’t fully understand how.[UPDATE 8/12/2022 – I discovered that if I connect my phone to my car’s wireless internet, that it loses it’s connection to the cooler. As long as I use my Verizon Wireless 5G connection, I don’t have a problem with the app connecting to the cooler.]I emailed the manufacturer for assistance connecting to the app and received an initial reply 24 hours later which didn’t offer much help. They basically repeated the poorly written instructions from the manual. They provided a poorly made video which didn’t offer any help cause you couldn’t see the steps that were made on the phone. I never received a reply to my follow-up questions. The customer service is dubious at best.4) The instructions make frequent mentions to the Left and Right side of the cooler. Note: Left = Refrigerator (square symbol) and Right = Freezer (upside down L symbol). Note: When rapid cooling, the Left (Refrigerator) side cools FIRST and then the freezer side once the refrigerator has reached its designated temperature.5) Instructions for using the cooler as a single unit REFRIGERATOR. If you choose to use the cooler as a single unit, it will only refrigerate, not freeze the entire unit. To put it in single zone mode you will press the upper + and – buttons simultaneously for the refrigerator (square) controls. This will cause the upper display to show ——-. When you remove the center divider. The upper display shows the current temperature and the lower display (freezer) gets disabled. You can do this with the phone app as well. The UglyThe folding extendible handle is awkward. The plastic handles seem to twist and bend and the folding handle seems to get in the way when you try to carry the cooler instead of pulling it. However, they seem to do the job. It will be interesting to see how durable they will be.Final Thoughts1) So far, I’m satisfied with my purchase. It’s a very good price point for what you are receiving.2) The cooler fits perfectly in the back of my RAV4 Prime. The bigger model may not fit as comfortably.3) The cooler works perfectly in my car while connected to the car charger while the car is ON. I tried running the cooler with the car off on the Accessory setting and the cooler generated the F1 error shortly after indicating that the battery saver is now in effect. The instructions recommend leaving the battery saver setting to H (High) to protect your car batter, but you can use M (Medium) or L (Low) for other power sources. I would recommend getting a separate power source for using outside of a running vehicle.4) Using the cooler for groceries: I live in Florida and grocery shopping is always challenging when you need to leave frozen items in the hot car for too long. Since the cooler cools down rapidly, you can store groceries in there and keep them cooler than you would in the car (even if the temperature hasn’t reached freezing yet, it’s still better than car temperature).I would give the item itself a 5 Star Rating, but my overall 4 Stars was due to the poorly written manual and customer service I received.

I’ve had this for a week and put it through its paces. It’s great. The temperature setting isn’t free of fluctuation even if unopened, but stays within range. In general:Direct Expansion gas compression (DX) is the current best form of freezing on the market today. Absorprion fridges, often used in RVs are limited to ±20°F from abient outside air temperature (OAT) so on a hot day in Arizona it won’t keep ice or ice cream usable, and fish and poultry is useless as well. They also have to be kept level to work.THIS unit has a real DX compressor, real gas so the state transitions (liquid to gas absorbing the heat, gas to liquid being compressed after releasing the heat and so on. Give it 8″ clearance in the back, 4″ on the sides, 12+ VDC to run (it comes with a car adapter and a home voltage adapter)..For car users, set the voltage sensitivity to H (High). It will run when the car is on, and if it doesn’t run when the car is off than (you need a new battery for the car and) set it to M (medium) for a lower threshold to shut off.The cooler itself is great. It keeps things cool. It lacks rubber straps to hold the lid tight but the lid handle locks so it’s mostly as good. It is NOT an Igloo. It works well enough. It will not maintain the set temperature. i put it at -5°F freezer 34°F fridge. It did freeze my 4oz water, but wentup to 15°F in the freeezer to do it. That’s still below the freezing temperature of water, but a 10°F variance is something I’d want to be aware of… except if I’d bought a fridge/freezer where the temp goes from “1-5” and you don’t really know what it ever is. This is an improvement.Power utilization is good.. fit and finish is awesome. The lid stays shut. The 110VAC adapter works great. My remaining projects are:1. Create a “mount” for it in the back seat so it doesn’t “walk away” from my truck.2. Permanently wire it in. The cigarette lighter output is busy with a 3-way Y-adapter, a Valentine 1, a Garmin 5i, and a USB charger for the phone.Would I recommend this to others: YESWould I buy it again: If we get that RV trailer we’ve been talking about, YESWould I sell it to friends knowing they’ll hunt me down if I rip them off: YESIf the zombie apocalypse was happening, other than my weapons would I take this: YESIf I could DIY make this better:1. Add insulation. As I said, it’s not an igloo, and it cost energy to cool the space. If you’re willing to reduce the space and put some foam or other insulation you’ll not only save on power, but it will maintain temps great.2. Layer the food and put some for of clear vinyl between them. Put most used stuff on top. Some of this is “general cooler stuff” but now that you’re working a compressor it matters more. That way you’re not introducing ambient (hot) air into the cold box.3. Add a $60 refrigerator icemaker to the freezer side. Feed it water through a tube and a bottle, and feed it electricity… where there is a bit of a problem. You see, fridge replacement icemaker units are $50-$60… but they run on 120VAC. In a car, RV, boat, or aircraft you have 12 or 24VDC. You can use an inverter but there’s a huge inefficiency there. So I’m looking to buy one, gut the motor, find a 12VDC motor that does the same job, and mount that in. There’s a guy on youtube that mounted an icemaker in his cooler. Youtbe-search it (can’t link to it here). The point is that installing an icemaker in a cooler is… well… cool… but installing it in a freezer means your cubes will stay frozen forever. Now if there was only a soda dispenser on top!

I have had this refrigerator for a few weeks now and so far I like it a lot. The good: I uses very little power! The not so good: It uses very little power. Power is what pumps the heat out of the food and since this unit uses so little power it does take a little longer to cool things down than a full sized refrigerator, but it does get the job done. Just give it time to do it’s work. I got this to replace a nearly decades old Coleman cooler that uses stirling engine technology (space stuff there) to cool. I though my Coleman was great because it only used about 30 watts of power.. but it used those 30 watts 24 hours a day. This cooler manages to use 30 watts but only intermittently, so it wins for less power consumption. I also had become accustomed to the “hum” the old cooler made constantly, this one is so quiet I can not tell if it is running or not. I do not find that the temperature fluctuates the way other reviewers state. Refrigerators have to have something (mass) in them to hold temperature correctly. Testing the cooler empty does not give accurate results. The bad: Connecting the APP is almost impossible to figure out. I did manage to get it to connect at work on that wifi, but I have not managed to get it to connect to my home wifi and when traveling without wifi, what is the point anyway. It might be nice to be able to monitor the temperature of my cooler when I am not at home,, but that is mostly a gimmick anyway. Enough to say that the app works if you manage to get it connected, but when traveling it is useless to even have the app. Overall, I give it five stars .. I take away one star for traveling since the app would be more trouble than it is worth and the size is a bit bigger than I would like for the back of my car. If they made a slightly smaller cooler, I would buy that for travel and leave this larger one at home to keep my beverages cold.
